Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance (????????????: ?, Evangerion Shin Gekij?ban: Ha, lit. “Evangelion New Theatrical Version: Breaking”) is a 2009 Japanese animated film written by Hideaki Anno. It is the second of four films released in the Rebuild of Evangelion tetralogy based on the original anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion. It was produced and co-distributed by Hideaki Anno’s Studio Khara.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS…
am i the only one who believes this series and the original series are related in some way other than being alternates, as the line kaworu says right at the end (come now, the promised time has come, shinji ikari. this time, i’ll be sure to bring you happiness), seems to me like a refrence to the original. idk im just a kid so its probably wrong
@TheSheepherd ITS A FRIGGIN NEW STORY!! awesome BTW, 1.0 ends with the battle againsta that giant blue cube angel and then 2.0 pops up and messes everything up…in an epic way
why the fuck did they mind rape asuka in the series? that made me sad, i wish shed get a happy ending, hopefully in the rebuild
@TheSheepherd 1.0 was basically a retelling of the original series. 2.0 continues where 1.0 left off, but it begins to make lots of changes.
So think of it like a retelling with changes to the plot. There are pretty major changes in 2.0 actually (including a new character…). Don’t be put off by the fact that it’s just a retelling because these movies were very fun to watch even as a fan of the original series.
@guinea2k8 would like to know that too, if its like a second season, or just telling again with some differences to make money…

Uhh, they should make DAICON animations availble – but with all of the copyright content it would cost most likely exactly the same what LD/BM… sigh
The first one confused the HELL out of me but… i still liked what i understood and come to think of it… huh i just understood it…
i love how they are re doing the animation completly so it is a more concise movie experience on this great series in anime lexicon.
i’d wish they do this with other works but i digress
