However, if you can afford Sky HD then I have to say the picture quality is superb, as someone who loves wildlife documentaries, I have found HD to be a revelation, and Sci-fi stuff and many other things. My next choice is whether to Blueray or not to Blueray re DVD systems in HD, and at present have put that on hold. I guess it depends how much TV you watch, and how much you like it as to whether you wait or buy now. I thoroughly recommend the Sony Bravia (with the colour engine technology) if you want to splash out on LCD but I understand that if you wish to go to Plasma, then the Phillip's Viera is pretty good. US is starting the conversion to all digital in 2009 and then it just goes from there. I wouldn't spend more than a couple hundred bucks on a tv if it's not HD compatible.
