I have a projection HDTV with only one DVI input alrealdy occupied by an HD DVR. I would like to hook up an HD DVD but I’m afraid that I will lose quality if I use the other inputs. Is it possible to "multiplex" the DVI input? Do you have any other ideas? I’;m not ready to replace my TV just yet.

just use the component connection it should be as good a picture as dvi.
go to Google and type in "DVI switch"
Don’t be paranoid about connections. For years, you have been watching videos via composite and that probably never bothered you
Component video is pretty good indeed. It has been in use by video professionals for many years. So connect your HD-DVR via component and you should be OK!
