How can you tell if a HD DVD or Standard DVD is bootleg or Asian?

Been buying a lot of HD DVDs from established Ebayers, is there anything in particular to look for to tell if a disc or it’s packaging is fake?

    a friend of mine went to nyc a while ago and picked up some fake dvds. the first clue that it was bootleg is that the movie was still in theaters when he came home!

    another movie that was copied from a dvd is that the dvd only had 4 chapters and the paper insert did not have all the information it should have
