first figure out what the max resolution your tv is capable of, say 720p, 1080i, or 1080p. then in the settings and display menu on the ps3, set your video output to either component or hdmi (whatever one is hooked up) then set the resolution according to your tv’s specs. your ps3 will switch to the high def resolution automatically. make sure you are on the input "channel" of your tv which corresponds to the output(ex video 2). thats it!
