I bought a HD Ready TV a few years ago, the picture is not always the best, should I buy a HD box? I use Dish?

Will adding the BOx help in the picture quality?

"HD Ready" means it will accept a high definiton signal, but scale it down to SD to suit the TV… This was a major sales pitch in the early days of HD… Alot of these TV’s do have bad picture, there is really not much you can do about it… Don’t pay extra for HD products to go with your HD ready TV, it’s a waste of money, if I was you, just by a standard definition digital set top box with a component output, and use that, it’s the best you’ll get out of your TV, apart from buying a new one.
