The high definition is nothing to do with the data sticks and everything to do with the camera and its sensor.
The answer is no, memory sticks/cards just store the data. What you need is a HD camera, even if there was, that wouldnt shoot Hi-Def.
The short answer is ‘no’.
My friend has a sony cybershot DSC-P71 which is 3.2 megapixels. The highest capacity memory card this camera will support is 128 megabytes. If you try to use anything higher (for example, a 4 GB card), it will not work properly.
Also, they don’t make the full size memory sticks anymore (only the small "duo" sticks, with an adapter to use on your old sony camera), So you will need to buy the small 128MB card with adapter (MSAC-M2, usually included).
Memory cards do nothing but store the information sent to it by the cameras analog to digital converter. It is stored in a series of zeros and ones … that is it.
If you always shoot at the cameras highest resolution, you will always be dealing with the best image files your camera can produce. Do NOT buy the fastest cards, since the technology in your camera was designed long before "high speed" memory cards were available
