Just got the cable and plugged it into my 13″ macbook and 50″ flatscreen…all I get is the photo on the computer’s wallpaper…am I missing a step?

Not compatible with new Macbook pro.
You need mini displayport to HDMI adapter instead.

I purchased this product because I wanted to view my Macbook on my Samsung tv. I tried hooking it up, and it did not work. When I forcefully pushed the cable into the Macbook and held it there, my desktop would show up on the tv, but nothing else (not internet browser, applications, etc.). I am planning on returning the product and hopefully getting a full refund.

The item profile says this cable is compatible with MacBooks, but it does not work with the newest MacBooks, which use a mini display port! Also, my order did not come with an HDMI cable. Buyer beware.

Bought it from CE Compass. The adapter was white, but the cable was black, not white as pictured. If the cable color is a decision factor in your purchase, I would not recommend this seller.
