Standard definition TV does not look as good on an HDTV as it does on a comparably sized SD TV.
The problem is that the SD signal has to be de-interlaced and processed to add lines of resolution to match the HDTV&#039;s screen resolution. This process degrades the picture.
Even after you upgrade to HDTV, you&#039;ll still be watching a lot of SD TV. 
Sets differ in their ability to display SD. Some are better than others. You should look for a professional review of any set you&#039;re interested in. The March Consumer Reports reviews a large number of sets, including their SD performance.</description>

		<description>Sure, your satellite service probably hooks up via composite or S-video connectors, so you should be fine.

However, don&#039;t be surprised if the picture looks fuzzier than your old TV. When std res tv gets spread across a large high res screen, it tends to look blurrier.</description>
